Why do we make our pods compostable?
Every year, 62 billion coffee pods are consumed in Europe and the US. These coffee pods are very hard to recycle and so most aren’t, resulting in 326,000 tonnes of coffee pods going into landfill annually. [1]
That’s the equivalent of 155 London Eyes being scrapped every single year!
Our 100% plant-based Noffee® pods will never contribute to this, and that is why you can put our pods (once you’ve enjoyed your sublimely decadent Noffee) straight into your home compost, the ground, garden bin, or even rubbish bin. The whole capsule will be gone in 26 weeks – fertilising the earth around it.
Absolutely! The pods are made from a mixture of biopolymers and cereal flours, and are BPA, oil and aluminium free, which means our pods are all natural and easily biodegradable, allowing them to fully go back to the earth at the end of their life.
How else are we eco-friendly and sustainable?
Starting from the pesticide free way in which the chicory is grown, the limited production rates to preserve farmland and fair pay for farmers, to the zero-waste and energy efficient process of our expert roasters, to the 100% compostable capsules that our Noffee is sealed in; every step of the journey for our gorgeously luxurious blend has been carefully considered with the environment, suppliers, farmers and customers in mind.
Beautiful to look at, smooth to drink, and ethical in production!
